Microplane Graters

The folks at Microplane pioneered the new generation of really-sharp, really-easy-to-use graters. Borrowing from woodworking tools, Microplane graters featured grating surfaces dotted with hundreds of photo-etched blades, rather than with the stamped holes that had defined graters since the beginning of time. The difference is dramatic. With a Microplane grater, food is sliced, nearly-effortlessly, by many tiny blades rather than forced into holes under pressure. Grating is so much easier and so much faster you'll hardly believe it. Citrus zest floats off in a cloud, Parmesan cheese rains down in a flurry of delicate shavings. The blades of the fine and coarse graters are sheathed in acrylic guards; the graters and the zester feature comfortable, non-slip handles.
